Looking for machine shop in GA
Recently purchased a shell style bearing kit for my 1930 Model A block. Local (Savannah, GA) machine shops cannot do the line bore because their bore bar is too large in diameter. Can anyone recommend a machine shop in the GA, SC, FL area who has the ability to do this work?

Boreing bars come come in numerous sizes. Sounds like they just might not want to mess with it.

You would have to get one that was about 1 1/8, to 1 1/4 inch. Guessing, a 72, or 96 inch bar would run about 1200.00. One engine, wouldn't be worth it, and cast iron dust really eats up bars, and bar bearings. |
