The internal springs popped out and dropped down onto the bearing while I was installing them recently. Don't know why and hope it doesn't happen to others but here is a simple and cheap preventive step.

I wound a short piece of stranded 12ga electrical wire into the underside opening with the spring in place... drove the seal home... pulled the cheater wire out and all was fine.

Bill's suggestion is excellent, however in my case I discovered the spring fell out after installation, I used the wire trick to help snake the spring back in with the seal in place.
