Guess they forgot the wiper and shocks and there is an extra hole in the firewall but at least it has a grommet.

It will be judged for what it is. An early 21st century idea of what an early 20th century
"play car" was.

Maybe for some back then. Edsel's custom Model A comes to mind. But his differed much in that his actually embodied his designer good taste.

There are probably those here on the board who use Ebay to good advantage. But generally I'm extremely turned off by a seller who has to exclaim "WOW" (always in capital letters) to describe their own sale.

It seems like those who have to yell about their product generally have to for a reason, and this a reason other than offering a fair product at a fair price.

That was my first thought exactly when I first saw the picture.

Actually for a non-stock color combo I think it looks good.

I'd get rid of the stone guard first, then the spare tire mirrors.

I agree that someone WILL buy it simply because it is a "feel good" car for someone. Something that most folks here don't think about but the majority of Model-A owners are NOT members of either national club, ...nor do they really have any interest either. Personally I find they just want a car they can drive to dinner/church/town that makes them feel & look good.

Something else to think about is generally speaking, people that have disposible income to buy toys like this do not always want 'status quo' that makes them blend in. By this I mean this car is a "feel-good" car that is recognizable (i.e.: Ford Model-A) by admirers of all ages ...however it is also unique in color to attract Ladyfolk and stand out in a crowd of cars at places like cruise-ins, downtown shows, and in the parking lot of their local restaurant. This car will not be bought as an "investment" by the new owners but as 'therapy' for themselves. (Think about it!! )

I don't know what the rates are where that car is,but where I am you would lose your shirt doing that amount of work for the highest bid so far.Ugly or not it looks like some pretty good work,and a lot of it.I look at as a waste of some nice work.Good shops here start at $75.per hour,and a very busy one near me is $90.per hour.That guy does a lot of Mopar muscle car body restoration,and there was a fellow from the south there to pick up a car.He has a shop,and his hourly rate down there is $35.per hour.That is what the guy here pays his two best men.The helpers are at $22.I think that the vast majority of people that look at cars like that have no clue about what a restored A is supposed to be like.At the majority of shows if the car is shiny and pretty,the workmanship is nice,it's a winner.Out of all the people I know with A's,I only know a handfull that know anything at all about judging,clubs,or have computers.Most of them don't even want their cars known.I don't belong to any clubs myself.I think that car will sell because of the newness,shineyness,cleaness,and the fact that a lot of women will give the OK to their husbands on it.The reserve hasn't been met yet,so for all we know it could be $80,000.

Is a 1930 Roadster truly a "rare" car. There seems to be no shortage of them in Hemmings Motor News.

From the looks of it, it would be a really good start if you wanted a roadster in more plausable color(s). Disassemble it, slap on some DP90 and then another palate in your favorite 2K. Better than most of the 'drivers' I see in circulation at meets with really hacked up changes. Just a short list and it would be nice. The top material is closer to correct than the incorrect yucky light beige I usually see on "restored" roadsters. Who knows. If you start cutting the paint, you may find Washington and Rivera Blue underneath!

It's just a balance- How close you want to get to a 'correct' resto (JS, Touring Class, common club 'driver', etc.) How much time you want to put into it, and how much you value reduced waiting time.

With that said, yeah, the colors make me wanna hurl, but then, beauty is in ... something or other.

must concede that this car has far fewer incorrect or missing details than MOST of the shiny paint jobs offered by these "classic" car dealers.

but man oh man those colors hurt my eyes

maybe the horn was named in honor of the Georgia bulldog mascot......
