Default Dipping wasn't perfect

Horn cover from my 31 Town Sedan. Seems there might have been an air pocket when they dipped it.

I have seen this in several original unrestored horns! When they were dipped an air pocket formed and that area remained bare metal.

Mine too. But it's not all shiny like yours...

So, how should I duplicate that effect when re-painting the horn, so I don't lose points!

Here is what I think is amazing......

During the peak of production in 1929 and 1930 they dipped 25,000 wheels, 20,000 fenders etc... etc....EACH DAY!!!

That's a lot of dipping.....

Also think that they made and Cadmium plated 115,000 lug nuts each day.....

Something to think about..
