Default Headgasket

Time for a new head gasket. What's your favorite head gasket these days? I have always used the traditional copper gaskets but what's out there?

I always use head gaskets with copper on both sides, and sprayed with lots of copper coat before assembly. Tighten to 55#, warm the engine to operating temp, let it cool, then tighten again to 55#. Works every time.

I have had good success with the BEST head gaskets. Their website has a list of people who sell them, but there are others not listed

Best 509 G, perfect fit for H/C Snyder heads. No intrusion into combustion chamber. No sealant to be added.

Snyder's sells them. B-6051-x for the graphite and b-6051-x for the copper. I like the graphite. JB

Bert's sells them also. But I emailed Steve about two months ago to tell him that their on line shopping does not mention anywhere the "Best" name. He answered me that I was correct and he would get that changed right away. I have not checked to see if it is changed, but they do sell that gasket.

Most vendors do not mention the Manufacturer of parts in their catalogs. I think it would be a big help if they did to make it easier to select the parts you want... or avoid the manufacturer you know sells junk.

Synchro...never got anything from you just so you know. However, I guess I should have clarified, I need a Model B best graphtite head gasket...with the over sized intake valves on my A engine I've had issue with the clearance of the A gasket...

573G works on everything. Snyders carries it but uses their own part number. Look up graphite head gasket for Model B. I only stock this gasket as it works on A&B and don't have to carry two paart numbers.
