Default Horn power wiring

here is an easy one.... what gauge of wire should be used to extend power to the horn? Should it be 12 gauge or 16 gauge or should it matter?

I'd go for #14 (gauge)

I think the harnesses were 16 gauge.

14 would be overkill but would do you well. Its just that if the rest of the wiring in the harness is 16, that will be the limiting factor. If you connect a firehose at the end of a garden hose, then ultimately you get garden hose flow.

#16 is good for up to 10 amps. If it's 100 feet or more from the power source you should bump it up a bit.
