Default Four Year Restoration Done!

Finally finished up the 29 coupe! What a journey to say the least. I am still battling the DMV over the original 1929 licence plates I found for it. They want me to have yearly safety inspections, have the highway patrol put a VIN plate on, and pay annual registration fees. Since I had to pay out quite a bit of money for the plates I am going to do it but I am really not happy about it.

A big thanks to everyone for all the help over the years. I could not have done it without your help. Really looking forward to being a proud Model A owner and driver.

Thanks!!

I went through the same thing with the local Reg of Motor Vech.

Worth it though use it as second car.

Thanks. I still need to have the original orange pin strip applied. I have the paint and the person lined up but I still haven't made up my mind yet. It's just such a contrast I am not sure I want to do it.

Rose Beige & Seal Brown...Right?

The orange pin striping actually looks pretty good over the Seal Brown.

I guess in this respect, wash state is great. I have horseless carriage plates, which is a one time fee. No inspections, although there are restrictions, which don't affect my driving or miles driven. And I drive pretty much weekly all year.

Great restoration, I also love the photo of your young helper. If you ask me, that is the way to get the youth involved in the hobby.

California also does not require annual inspections, which is amazing considering all the other stuff required.

I drove the '29 to DMV in DE yesterday.. nice clear, crisp day, took a back-road to get there.! Windshield wiper (vacuum) and E-brake need some work,
but the experience added a lot of confidence to the undertaking.. next time
I know it will pass.!
You have a nice looking Coupe.. well-done.!

Looks great. Getting it done in four years is quite an accomplishment.

"Great restoration, I also love the photo of your young helper. If you ask me, that is the way to get the youth involved in the hobby." Indeed. I bet none of this friends can say that he helped take a car apart and put it all back together again!
