Default Upholstery door panels

Regarding the map pocket in the door, was the cardboard door panel cut out for the map pocket or was it mounted on the surface. Meaning when you looked in the pocket could you see the cardboard panel?

The pocket on my Coupe is sewn to the surface of the door panel. If you look inside the pocket you will see the same cloth that is on the door panel.

I've attached copies of an original late 1930 that show cardboard inside the map pocket

Is that original door panel? It looks like there was a lot of heavy stuff in there for a long time.

That was your glovebox. How much stuff do you carry in your glovebox?

Yes, that is the same way mine looks. Seems kind of cheesy to look in there and see cardboard
