29 cowl light questions
I am getting ready to install the cowl lights on a 29 Tudor. They were on the car when I received it for restoration and the customer wants to keep them on the car.
I bought new reflectors and pigtails. However, I am a bit confused about the fit of these parts. When I put them all together I noticed that the wire coming out of the bulb socket seems to be touching the retaining bracket and there is a screw that attaches to that bracket to hold the assembly into the housing/bucket--see photos. Is this a problem waiting to happen? I noticed on the original cowl lights that the brass socket fits much looser that the new parts and there seems to be two positions where I can click and lock the brass socket into the reflector socket. By pushing the brass socket further into the reflector socket I can have more space between the wire and the retaining bracket. Is the second position the correct position or just a better position. I don't like the idea of that screw shorting out the wire that goes to the bulb. What are your thoughts?

Re: 29 cowl light questions
The rearward position will definitely be a problem. Go with the forward position, provided the bulb fits behind the lens. Looks like it would.
