Red face What the...Nokia tyres ???

I really like the price of these 5.50x19 bias ply but does anyone know anything about Lucas Nokia or read any reviews? And made where?

"These beautiful European style tires are made in the original Nokia molds and have been popular with vintage car enthuiasts all over the world."

Good afternoon...I have Lucas tires on our 1931 Tudor and have had for about four years. They run well and seem to wear well. Great value for $99.00 each. Ernie in Arizona

Nokian Tyres Oyj, headquartered in Nokia, Finland, produces tyres for cars, trucks, buses, and heavy-duty equipment. Known for its winter tyres, Nokian operates the only permanent winter tyre testing facility in the world. The company's Hakkapeliitta brand name is recognised in Finland as a reputable trademark.

Hakkapeliitta is commonly specified for Prius as a winter tire.

Are these tires made by Lucas or Nokia? It sez they are made with Nokia Molds but are they made by Lucas (China I believe).

Don't get me wrong, I have Lucas Olympic tires on my car and like them, I would just like this clarified.

At $129 each there's no way these are made in Finland. These are branded as Lucas and my guess is they are made in Vietnam. Lucas says there are made using the original Nokia molds.

For the price they are a good nylon economy tyre. Nearest rival in the 5.50-19 size is the $204 BF Goodrich Silvertown which are poly (not nylon) and USA made.

Nobody seems to be using these yet...so the jury still out if they are any good or not.

Weren't the worst of those lousy tubes we had to put up with a few years ago made in Finland? I'm sure it was one of the Scandanavian countries! The problem was, they used recycled materials. Have they done the same with these tyres????
If these are made by someone other than Coker, it might bring down the price we all have to pay for tyres. It seems Coker have bought up pretty much all of the manufacturers of classic and vintage tyres so we end up with a monopoly.
PS. That wouldn't be allowed in this country for obvious reasons.

Yes, they are made in Vietnam. They are nylon as mentioned, not polyester, and will have flat spots from sitting for a long time. The flat spots disappear after a couple of miles of driving and heat-up. We run them with radial tubes.
Just did a check and my Lucas tires are labeled 475-500x19 with the Olympic profile, different than the post 1 photo which is a Lucas offering in the Nokia profile

I do like the looks of them. Too bad I don't need tires right now... https://www.lucasclassictires.com/55...kwall-299p.htm

Speaking of tires, does anyone have any experience with these Radials?

At $129 each maybe these might be worth putting into a container to Australia???

Haha, this is true. But since we were talking about Finland using recycled rubber in their tires...

Anyway, too bad Fordlandia didn't work out...
