Ignition Points
Is there any difference between the solid points and those's called 'vented' ?
Are is there such a thing as 'vented'? I've seen solid and others with, like a hollow center on the 'arm' side- are there advantages to either? Thanks |

Re: Ignition Points
There are 'vented' points. The hole supposedly allows for air flow keeping the points cool.

Re: Ignition Points
The "vented" ones will outlast the solid ones several times over. They didn't go to that trouble for no gain!

Re: Ignition Points
Either one will work well.
I have 15K miles on a set of solid points and they still have a long way to go until they will need to be replaced. The main thing is be sure to buy quality points and not something that was made in China. My opinion, Chris W. Last edited by CWPASADENA; 05-28-2019 at 11:16 PM. Reason: TYPO |
