Default The Cars And Trucks We Own

A few years back I did a poll on the old Fordbarn just to see what year car or truck the guys owned. Some may recall this. I found the results of this poll recently and thought it would be interesting to those that had not seen it.

Here is the year and followed by the number of those owning them:
1923-1
1927-1
1930-2
1931-7
1932-22
1933-2
1934-29
1935-17
1936-28
1937-15
1938-7
1939-21
1940-28
1941-10
1942-3
1946-11
1947-15
1948-6
1949-4
1950-10
1951-4
1952-7
1953-16

I am guessing the ratio would be about the same if the poll was taken today.

You can add one more ugly-duckling '38 to your list.

Like I wrote in an earlier thread, sometimes we drive what we find and can afford, not what we would really like to own. Some may have fond memories of a certain car and want nothing else and it is okay. To each his own...

25 or 30 years ago every car show in small towns had 6 or 8 classes of old Fords. Now if there are one or two old Fords it's rare and usually they are hot rods. G.M.

This is one reason I like Hershey so much. Years ago I heard this announcement on the loudspeakers. "There is a hot rod parked at such and such a place. Move it immediately or it will be towed!"

Don't get me wrong, I like street rods too and have one. But there is a time and place for everything, Hershey is not one of them.

SHADETREE ...................
The big surprose, to me, was that there were eleven times the number of '32s to the '33s. Is that a typo ?

Mike, I double checked the results again and the score is still 1933-2 and 1934-29. There are Fordbarners adding cars to the list, so I should start a new poll on a new thread. Then we will know what the the present Fordbarners drive.

I think a new poll would be interesting. Thanks for offering.
