Default 36 mechanical brakes

I got my 8 year 36 Cab complete restoration project on the road, runs great, very happy will all except when I use the foot brake it tends to partially set the hand brake. Both work fine but this probably should not happen ---right! How do I correct this?? Help! thanks Bruce

Bgalla ,The hand brake should have a elongated slot in the clevis were it pins into the equaliser /cross shaft with a spring on the hand brake holding it back the clevis pin is then free to slide as well . .it could involve adjusting the slotted hand brake rod ,some with twin rods to the rear have the slot there,
