WWII gas ration sticker placement?

Went to a car show and saw that the ration stickers were displayed in any corner of the passenger side window. I took a picture of mine(it's a reproduction sticker), just wondering if there is a correct spot.

It was to be placed on the bottom right corner of the passenger side windshield. I still have a beat up one on my 35 ford windshield. I remember sometimes being allowed to set in the front seat, Mom next to Dad and me against the door. The darned sticker was in front of me, that is why I remember where it was.

About the ration stickers, as I remember the A got 5 gal, B got 20 gal per week and C sticker was allowed all they needed for their necessary war related business. It was to conserve rubber tires not fuel. The Germans were doing Quite a job sinking ships bringing rubber up from South America. Scrap rubber was more sought after than metal it was really something to find an old tire to scrap for the "war effort ". I can sure remember those war years, 8 to 13 years old. Now I can't remember what happened yesterday.

On the front of the sticker it said, it was to be placed in accordance with local law.

My Father worked for a company that installed stockers, and oil burners in factories. So he used his car every day, always had gas and tires. Out Neighbor was a French man who was in the first world war. He called the police and reported him. It became a family joke. My Dad was a black marker supplier????? He worked 10/12 hrs a day keeping the factories running. Many people did this, unsung heros

This is amazing to me because my father did the same thing and had the same 'C' sticker benefits
He also installed and serviced oil burners both commercial and domestic.
I can recall occasionally accompanying him to his job site for the day in his 1937 Ford that was a former police car.
The car had a screwed in place metal patch where the police radio antenna used to be in rear quarter.
The 'C' sticker was placed in the passenger side windshield in a manner so as to minimize any blockage of view to the driver.

My father got a "C" sticker as an airline pilot, I guess to make sure he could always get to the airport to fly his trips. He had a '37 Ford with "Denver" heads and dual exhausts.

Mine is probably not correctly placed but I figured since the gas filler neck is on that side I’d go with that . I like it , most folks don’t even know what it is. I can’t imagine owning a Zephyr during the war when gas was rationed. You weren’t gonna go very far .

As I understand it, there was never shortage of gas in the western states, but the program was made nationwide so as not to seem discriminatory against the other regions. Also, rationing was aimed at conserving rubber as much as it was meant to save gas.

Early in the war, citizens were asked to turn in their spare tires to aid the war effort. An immense pile was collected on the athletic field at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis. They remained there throughout the war and for several years thereafter, and were in clear view of an adjacent highway. I often wondered what ever became of them, and the reactions of the people who had contributed to the pile as they drove by.

My 38 Standard came with the window tag and some original coupons. As part of my rebuild I put in all new glass so the tag is gone. All most done with my project and will post some finished pics soon.

One of the first cars I ever bought was a 1936 Foed 2 dr sedan. Had 18K on the OD. I bought it at an auction in 1950, it had been stored since 1942, because It did;t qualify for gas. My good fortune, got it for 100 bucks. unfortunately it burned oil so bad, I had to change the engine. Bought another engine for 25 dollars at the local Junk yard and it ran great for several years. Wonder what happened to it.
