I remember seeing script batteries in the Mac's and possibly the Snyder's catalogs, but I've also heard the longevity was not great. I believe it was Mac's also offers a battery cover, that is a rendition of the Ford script, I believe it's a plastic box that you set a group 1 six volt in, then set in your tray. Might be an acceptable shim?

For 12v I used the one piece hold down and opened it up @ 1/4" on each side so it fit over the top of the battery. Not the greatest but it's secure. Had to cut some sleeves for the hold downs too but it beat the alternative.



Still need a new clamp for the ugly old Packard wire.
