Re: Help identifying EV8 parts
Tim,
With respect, it is not a '32 column drop, but rather of a later vintage with a different on/off plate and lever and wider spacing of the attachment holes on top. The one at the top of the photo is '33-'34 passenger car. The exhaust manifold is the right side manifold for '32-'36 V8s. Last edited by DavidG; 04-09-2021 at 12:04 PM. Reason: clarity |

Thank you for the correction. Both you and other member pointed that out to me. I guess I shouldn't post until I have my morning coffee. Haha. Tim |

I believe the one in the middle is 39 passenger.

Re: Help identifying EV8 parts
The middle one is '38-'39 Passenger car; The one on the right is '36 pickup (will work on '37 pickup); also backwardly compatible with '35-early '36, but with reversed switch-on position)

Re: Help identifying EV8 parts
With respect, the one on the right could be a '36 but not a '37. The drops for half ton pickups and passenger cars were the same in their respective years, but '36 and '37's are definitely different. The distance from the bolt holes to the column opening is greater on the '37. The steering tubes were the same for '35-'37 pickups, which were different from passenger cars.
One can not tell from the picture whether it is a '35 or '36... which are quiet similar. The '35 and '36 are different because the lock cylinder on most '35's is slightly shorter causing the well the cylinder goes into to be slightly shorter. This is visiable and distinguishable if you hold one of each beside the other simultaneously. My guess is that this one is a '36 based on the Hurd lock cylinder. |

Re: Help identifying EV8 parts
That's what the tag on it said '36, but wanted to confirm. Thank you all.
