Default Dwell Meter Kal-Equip T-111 manual

I just purchased a Kal-Equip T-111 dwell meter.

Does anyone have a manual that they could scan or take pictures of?

You might try the Garage journal under 'vintage tools'

Got mine in mid 60's I think for GM cars. I do not have any papers for it.

I agree and they all seem to work the same. Set it for battery voltage and number of cylinders and whether you want dwell or tachometer, one clip on the hot side of the coil and one clip to ground. Why not search on You-tube for a demonstration?

Should be one ground clip and one clip that goes to the coil primary that leads to the points. This way you can read dwell and RPM.

Since you have a positive ground car, you may have to swap the two clips from what most negative ground cars are connected.

This should be on the back. And if I remember correctly for 4 cylinders, double the 8 cyl readings.

Tuned a car, had it running with that same meter. Disconnected it & car DIED!
NEW Century brand condenser was defective. APPARENTLY, a condenser in the meter was serving the ignition system.

Looks similar to mine

Pretty straightforward, mine also has a buzz bar for current testing

I have a couple of these Kal-Equip meters, two are Tachometers, and the other two are Dwell meters.

All are in good cosmetic condition, but only the Tachometers function.

Does anyone have these Kal-Equip Dwell meters that still work, or are mine just "special" ?

Thanks !

I think I purchased this same unit 40 years ago at Sears.

Sears, remember them? Diehard, Craftsman, Kenmore.

I have an old Fox Valley tack, dwell, volt and amps that still works. Have had to modify for the battery and the leads are getting frayed. Had it 50 years.
