Clutch disc frozen to flywheel from sitting
35 V-8 sat in barn since '60. Engine was stuck, now runs properly. Before I jerk it down the road and try to break it free...How about removing starter.....with clutch depressed..is there any room to slip a
something in and attempt prying it ....I assume it will pop with a little help... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uSpq48YckA |

Re: Clutch disc frozen to flywheel from sitting
stuck clutches happen frequently on farm tractors. I've found that if you block the clutch pedal down for maybe a week it releases the pressure and helps to release it. If you can find a parking lot or such, block the clutch down, start in gear, and jab the brakes while keeping fuel to the engine.

Re: Clutch disc frozen to flywheel from sitting
This worked for me. With the car up on stands, warm up the engine in nueutral untill well warmed. Shut it off, and restart in second gear, run it up and matching RPMs, put it in third, then take it up to about 60 or 65, and with the clutch pedal on the floor, jamb on the brakes. This usually with break it free after two tries.
