Default 1934 21 stud v8 thermostat placement

Do themo's go in upper hose or back of water pumps ? have not taken engine apart yet have limited knowledge on these old v8's..just runs too cold in winter..sc.

I installed the thermostats I purchased from Robert Shewman in the upper hose of my '34 as recommended by him "up against the necks of the radiator". As seen in the V8 Times:

I believe that originally Ford placed them in the upper hose down close to the water pumps and added a third hose clamp to prevent them from migrating up the hose.

I followed what DavidG said. Have a third clamp on upper hose.
