"Ford" marked lever shocks - Need Help
I found a set of four lever shocks marked Ford Hydraulic and built in Chicago. I am told marketed by Chicagoan Pete Buciak. Long since dead he advertised years ago under the name “Shocks by Pete”.
My question is they are very very tight and only seem to work one direction and not rebound back on their own. I drained the oil which was clean and fresh and rinsed one of them out with light solvent. Refilled and still the same. Has anyone had one completely apart to tell me how they work and why they are so tight ? Thanks dusty. |

Re: "Ford" marked lever shocks - Need Help
This needs to be asked on ether the Model A or Early V8 forum (or maybe both). The shock looks like maybe Model A style, the arm later(?). Without looking at the Green book don't know when Ford changed what. Not many look here and this section is not for car questions, it is about the site itself.
