It's good news when they find the cause of a problem. I spent 20 years working in a Cath Lab.
They have excellent tools these days. The "drill" you mentioned is a "Rotoblator". It gets the Hard stuff out so the stent can expand. You've got a lot going on, and with close care like you seem to be getting, you can be more comfortable and able to look forward to better days. Prayers are said for your optimal recovery. Stay optimistic!

Good luck with your procedure, they tried to drill out the plaque in my leg'sand the drill would not work. So I now have both leg's blocked, have an appt the 11th to talk about the chemical stress test I just went through. Don't know what to expect, well getting old ain't for sissies. Al

It's amazing just how much gaze can be packed up a body's nose !
Make sure they get it all out !
Had somewhat same with nose and heart.
