Yes Peter, I was wondering that myself but at least it wasn't an enemies list (LOL).
Took the std roadster out for a ride Sat. with the top down, boy that sun was hot so this morning I put it back up but left the rear window up. Quite a job to get a new top all set up right again as you probably know. I think I'll leave it up.

Honestly, the Friends List doesn't bother me. It's there to use, or not.
So there's a choice.
Just because one shares the same passion, doesn't mean you become close with all of them.
Think of clubs you belong to. Do you like and socialize with every single member?
Sometimes, it's beneficial to get out and play with the three-dimensional people.

Barry , I had no problem with my standard roadster top down and then up. The day after the MARC meet in Dearborn was the first time i had it down and what a ride, did not want to put it back up. I pulled upto the host Hotel near the front door and people freaked out saying never seen a Fine point car with the top down...After winning the Henry i did not give a rats ass what happened to the top.It was LB top and total cost back then installed complete car at LB's was $920.00 .Did not have a rumble seat which helped with the price. Then came Marco's car with the top off. Gotta give him alot of credit [or BALLS] knowing his top was made up with all n.o.s. material... A roadster with the top down looks alot better then up [i think].

Some of you I can't stand and want nothin to do with so I need a friend list for only those I like. I wonder why my list is so short?

There may be a few close by that have helped in the past and you want them seperate from the rest. Maybe some with the same model car and you want a short list. There are some reasons.

If there is someone you would like to talk to privately with PM's often, it is alot easier to go to their profile and select Private message if they are on your friends list instead of doing a search for their profile.

Most of us got along like family before we got here on the new forum, including family squabbles. While I do have afew on my freinds list I have not found a useful purpose for the list since I already have e-mail addresses for most of them. So far I find the PM's abit annoying. Rod

I just think it's a feature brought over from the HAMB, you don't need to use it, can just ignore it JMO

Actually, it's easier than that. Just click on their name on the left of the post and the drop box has the pm button.

It isn't a feature that was brought from HAMB, it's a feature of the forum software that's being used by both sites.

I agree with your last comment, if you don't need it, don't use it. I would add that if you don't know what it is, you don't need it.

This is all too much for me. I start a Friends list and then I have to decide who is first and who is last. I mean if they are your last friend are they really a friend ?

Personally. I think the friends list is LAME.

The only nice thing about is that if you have a friends list you can set it up so that only your friends can see your "private albums" in your profile... I do like that.

And yes if you see their name on a thread then that way is easier but if I want to pm someone and not have to search for their screen in a thread or search the membersip list, having them in your friend list is much easier.

Maybe it would better be called a "Contacts" list? I keep one of those in a MS Word file and it comes in handy.
