Default drill holes in 51 8ba block

Hi there want to drill extra Hols in 8ba block for blower intake manifold?
Any suggestion????

I wouldn't, I would get or fabracate an adapter.

Edit: comment was related to drilling a totally different bolt configuration, which doesn't appear to be the question.

No poblem. The 8be will accept the extra holes like the early blocks.

If we are talking just adding the center holes for the manifold then sure, no problem. I thought we were talking about a totally different bolt pattern!

I do that all the time. Heres what you can do simply use the gasket from the early Flathead the bolt pattern was the same on all the early blocks from 1932 to 1948. In 1949 Ford changed the intake a bit and eliminated a number of bolt holes so the top of the latter blocks always have less bolt holes compared to the 48 and earlier blocks.

i would use an early manifold and transfer punch the hole centers in the manifold. cant miss.

What I did is rent a magnetic base drill, Home depot has them, that way they're dead straight.
