Default Anyone else having difficulties with Mac's Antique Auto Parts?

I have been a customer of Mac's for nearly 30 years....but now that Ecklers has taken over, the last few orders have been more than disappointing.
Missing items in package, items damaged in packaging, returns and exchanges taking forever to process.
They messed up a rumble seat upholstery order, sent the wrong color, I returned two separate packages, one with the seat covers, one with the side panels. Three weeks later I received the seat covers but no side panels...they still had not processed them in their exchange system!! I decided to order an new set, because the exchange process was taking so long. The sales rep said they would "expedite" the order to make up for their mess up. Found out today from calling to check the status, that it takes 21 business days to manufacture the panels....
I would think that good customer service would dictate correcting ones errors and rapidly as possible. But it's seems that Mac's has now grown to be too big for their britches.
I will now do business with a "little guy" that understands the need for good customer service.

iI have had the same experience with macs over the last six months. They take forever to send the parts. Also I had purchased one of their shift knob clocks. It came withe no instructions, and no winding stem. It took well over a month to get a replacement and again no instructions. I called macs and asked for a set of instrutions. Also to lodge a comment about their service. It turns out that the people that made the clocks didn't include any instructions. However one macs techs made up a set and she sent them to me. So do what you want but I too am start buying from some one else.

i got fed up with Macs shortly after they were bought out by Eckers. Nothing but promises that are never kept. Went back to Berts, Brattons, and Snyders. Never a problem.

My experience has been just the opposite-everything I've ordered from Macs lately has been as I ordered, and it has come amazingly fast. I will say that I do favor vendors that use Paypal over others that do not.

No problems with Macs as I will not ever buy from them. Best way to avoid problems with them. Rod

Shipping charges from Mac's are abusive. This week I needed a rear main bearing oil seal (part # B-6335) listed in its catalog for $ 24.95. Shipping charge calculated at check out was $ 9:00!! However, I found they sell the same part on e-bay for same price and charge only $3.00 for shipping within the 48 States. Go figure.

Well as had been said, there are other choices for parts... The simple solution
is to vote elsewhere with theses:
