I understood your message. I was simply adding to it in my response.
However, after (re)reading my response I can easily see how it could have been understood as you read it. Sorry about that.

I realize that Ford simply primed the underside of the metal bed. I am certain they would not "waste" (finish) paint where it was not necessary.
