Seriously, that looks like a railing to clamp to the side of a running board so you can haul stuff. Aftermarket for the most part. Common in the 1920's.

Used to see them on touring Model A's a lot!!!! Aft of the doors along the running boards on coupes, roadsters and two door sedans (especially lots of room to stretch out and carry "stuff"

popular accessory for model T's. up to 26 they had no drivers door so you would clamp that on the running board and load it full.

Had one on my TuDor. Probably 20's to the mid 30's before running boards went away.

I agree with all of the above. I have one myself which I will try and sell on eBay if I can ever figure out their new ways of doing business. Havent used them in several years. Man have they gotten crazy. Money crazy that is.

No"........figure out new ways? Damn, why do they do that?
I haven’t been on eBay fo a few years either. It was always simple, then a scammer called me fix a virus in my computer. He wanted to be paid by PayPal. While I was talking to him Papal called me and said they knew him, and that he’s a scammer.
So PayPal cancelled my account to make sure I didn’t pay the guy with PayPal.
Ever try to but anything on eBay lately without PayPal.
I have at least once in the last 5 years.
I see stuff all the time I wont but can’t buy cause I ain’t got no PayPal.
