Unhappy Upholstery quality ??

Hi Everyone.
I have started working on my seat and backrest upholstery from a kit I purchased from LeBaron 's (30 Deluxe ) and had to remove the old kit also by Lebaron that was installed 30 years ago.

I immeadiatly noticed that the old kit was of a much better quality than the new one. The old one had thick denim where the covers attach to the seat spring frame. The new one has thin cotton linen which is easy to tear. Even in the paper instructions they refer to denim.I think Lebarons have cut the quality of the materials in order to save money.

Also the cotton padding is only half as dense as the 1980 kit.
Stitching is also poor where errors have been corrected. . ie the cotton thread has been removed and holes left in the cotton where the needle went through.

Overall I think that that the quality is not as good as it used to be.

I was quite disappointed for the amount of money I spent.

Does anyone else agree ?

Regards Mark.

Have you contacted them about your concerns? If I had dropped that much money I certainly would have. JMO
