Default Fuel pump pushrod

I have removed the stock (junk) fuel pump from my 8ba and installed an electric pump. Now I am told that without the pushrod installed I will lose oil pressure. Is this true? If so, whats the remedy? Surely someone has dealt with this issue........thanks

Not being installed you won't see a decrease in pressure but the hole should be plugged to curtail the oil mist in the lifter valley. It is only a .060" hole. There are numerous ways to plug the hole.

Just to clear up which .060" hole should be plugged. This is generally done by plugging the push rod hole.

Some more fuel pump push rod info. I removed the pushrod from my 8BA about 10 years ago and there was no drop in oil pressure. But considerable oil mist does splash up so it's best to plug it if you can. The first thread below shows what I did with engine in car.

Thanks to all for your help!!! Those links also gave me some good ideas. I should have searched the HAMB, but I thought I'd ask the experts here first.....
