Default Block Sealer, New headgasket

Hello, I read on the "dreamwerks" site that one of the steps in a new head gasket was to add a 1/2 vile of block sealer for the initial run up.
Is there a product that is acknowledged as the one to use?

I wouldn't think that's necessary but I'd give them a call and see what they recommend.

I actually did give them a call.
They said it was old information and they haven't done that for a long time.

While block sealer may not be necessary it is very good insurance that the head won't have to come back off to try and correct the problem . The cost of the sealer will be small compared to the price of another head gasket and the labor that would be required .

Use ALUMA SEAL powder, it won't clog anything but leaks.

I use Barr's Stop Leak, 1/2 of a jar.
