Default coupe seat adjuster

Can someone tell me what I need to do to get the adjustment on my 30 coupe to work? The screw goes out and in but how does it attach to the seat bracket so the seat will move. Something just does not seem right. I thought the knob would stay in one place near the seat base and the threaded bracket would be on the seat frame. I'm just a little lost and can't find a reference anywhere.

the seat bracket goes between the knob and the shaft. remove the knob install the bracket reinstall the knob then you will see how it works. you should put a thin washer on each side of the bracket.

If I had put the seat in I might have figured that out. Being a novice at putting this coupe together is killing me. After the interior is done then comes the engine and wiring. I was told the engine was rebuilt so I'm hoping. thanks.
