Default Model A Brake rivets

Anyone know the length of Model A Service brake lining rivets ? I puchased a package of " Model A brake lining rivets " and they are to short at least for the linings I have here . I measure 5/16 th inch overall length on these rivets from the top of the head to the end I am thinking they should be
3/8 th inch overall . I have looked in all the vendors catalogs I have 5 vendors catalogs and no one lists the rivet dimensions ? I googled "Model A Ford service brake lining rivets" Nothing came up. Then I checked the Model A Service bulletins and nothing there either .Thanks everyone B0B

Are you drilling your own holes or pre formed? It is not how tall the rivet is but how deep the recess in the end is too. What is the number on the rivet? I think the rivets that come with the shoes are 4-5(what Snyders would be selling) you might need 5-5 for thicker lining. Check with Big Flats Rivet

I bought these rivets years ago they have no number on them . There does not appear to be enough length for them to work properly the end barely goes past the hole in the shoe ( on the inside of the shoe) . These are thicker linings . I think I will just wait and take them to the next big swap meet and compare with known good rivets and probably buy a new set . There is enough lining left on the shoes on the Model A to last this summer so I can wait . Thanks B0B

Bob, I have used rivets that were approx. 0.330 in overall length with some woven brake linings. Those protruded 0.080 inch beyond the shoe. Try one of your rivets with your linings and peen it over. If it doesn't look good, just drill it out (don't use too big a drill) and look for different rivets. good luck.

Marco and I came up with this size, but now I can't find it.

The first "5" is the head diameter,..it depends on the size of the counter bore
in the shoe material. The one that I have measures .375" (3/8").

The second "5" is the length. The service brake will take a "-5",...were as the
e-brake band will/could take a shorter length,...say maybe a "-4" OR a
"-4.5", the band is made out of THINNER material.

I've taken out rivets with a head diameter of 5/16" AND 23/64" in the A
shoes..
