Banjo Wheel for '35
I have a '35 Fordor that had a Banjo wheel installed when I purchased it (picture attached). From the prior posts describing various banjo wheels, this seems to be a '36 wheel. The paint is chipping, and appears to be brown under the black paint. I was going to repaint the wheel, but also the spokes are loose, so the wheel 'rocks'. I don't know if there's an easy fix for the loose spokes, so I was considering buying a new wheel. Will any of the new/reproduction wheels that are for '36-39 work as a replacement for this current wheel, accommodating the light switch I have on the wheel? Would there be difficult modification needed to make a new wheel fit? Thanks

The repo 39 banjo will fit your column. There may be a problem with the horn rod, but I'm not sure. The diameter of the horn button assembly may be different than the diameter of the new wheel. I'm sure someone here can answer that question.

Re: Banjo Wheel for '35
If you are not interested in having a banjo style steering wheel, you might want to consider a standard three spoke repro '36 steering wheel. It would look and work just like an original '35 wheel except there would be no little ribs molded in around the grip ring. Everything would bolt back in place as an original '35 steering wheel.

Re: Banjo Wheel for '35
If your spokes are loose at the hub the problem is finding someone to weld the spokes to the diecast hub. The spokes are stainless, so I'm not sure that stainless can be welded to the diecast. Also check your keyway in the wheel. Lately I've seen two original wheels with split keyways.
