Default They’re still out there !

Acquired this 40 Tudor today. 48K original miles, original upholstery with one repaint in 1960. Has owners handbook in glove box with radio and heater instructions and a letter from the alemite company about the lubrication of the new car. Tool kit and jack in the trunk.

Great find! My 40 Fordor has about the same history, mileage, one repaint, original interior. The previous owners had kept a small Motors record book that the first owner started using in 1940 to record gas purchases and maintenance. It has the very first fill up and entries up through 1972 when the car came east to Peterborough NH from Chicago.

Nice score! It's in good hands.....keep those mobile museums rolling and you can now continue it's history...… Jot down all that info and throw it in the dash. I've probably said it several times, but grandpa kept a record in his glove box of everyone he ever took a ride in his 35 5w.....along with gas/tire ration decals and original papers about the war...

Good score. Give it a wax job, change the oil if it needs it and drive it often. Probably a nice tight rattle free Ford.

The old gentleman that’s here in my home town in Alabama got it when his sister passed away several years ago. He tells me she bought the car in the mid 50s and was the second owner. She lived in Georgia at the time of her passing and he never changed the plates. He also never drove it so it sat obscure for years unseen. I first heard about the car back in January and at that time was able to get a close up look at it.

Not running yet. Will need to go through the ignition system and fuel system to get it up and running again.

Wow, great looking car, can you run the 1940 plates in your state?

Congrats. A nice one. Finding something like this is a blast. I found a Model T that had been in someone's garage since the Mid 60's. Hard to believe that stuff like that is still out there, but it is.
