I dunno but there are too many twists per inch in the safety wire making it brittle and the grade 8 bolt is probably overkill.

That is the standard twist for this application with this wire.
There can be no overkill on this application.

Looks like a special aluminum or steel plug made to seal off the fuel pump push rod area in a Flathead engine, by using the tension of valve guide retainer/crows foot, held in place by a hex head machine screw, and a hex head bolt through plug, and threaded into plug to block off hole for mechanical fuel pump push rod. The saftey wire feature is to help keep hex head bolt from backing out

The photograph is of a clever device created for the sole purpose of quietly entertaining the old man where confined by Mama to the computer room. Mama's peace of mind thus preserved for an indefinite period, she is enabled to proceed with her daily toils cleaning up after the old man.
