This doesn't surprise me coming from a guy who is wanting to trade for a Nova.

There are some real ugly ducklings from the 60s "Custom Show Car" era and
much wilder looking than this car.
At least the mods are fairly subtle and my guess is the body is probably sitting on a 70s or 80s Monte Carlo or Impala frame based on the look of the wheelbase and track.

They didn't work hard. They took the lazy option and swapped the chassis. Then fitted the body together as best they could to fit the chassis that they shouldn't have used in the first place. No thought, no execution. Then they did their best to make it pretty, and completely disregarded that it's the proportions of a car that makes it attractive, not the shiny paint and tweed interior.
My cars are scruffy, dirty and rusty. But the one thing they have is great proportions!

Mart.

Ol' Ron......I'd be real interested in hearing WHY you believe my '65 Corvette coupe (51 years old), STOCK, STOCK, STOCK, 365 HP 327, 4-wheel disc brakes, would not pass a safety inspection. DD

The car is not my cup of tea, but the guy DID put a lot of work in it. Pretty talented.

I actually prefer stock over street rods personally. Wouldn't walk across the street, to see a street rod.

He is wise in seeking out a 60's Impala. Of all the car shows I've been to the last few years, the full size Chevys are coming on REAL strong there's a lot of interest in them. Those plus big block 60's Ford Galaxies seem to be finding their niche. I've been considering selling out the antiques and going to a 60's Galaxie XL pretty strongly anymore. Lot more practical today. At a car show last week, a disabled Vietnam Vet friend had a '61 Ford Starliner restored to #1 condition and the crowds wouldn't leave it alone. Got most of the attention. That and a '66 Super Sport 396 Impala that was parked close by.

Actually not a bad car for 17,500, easy enough to change the tail and headlights and unless you're really familiar with Fords it doesn't look that bad and surely good enough to get ice cream in. JMO

how many of you are like old Henry. Know a number of street rod people that think nothing of a 1000 to 2000 mile trip and there wife went with them cause they had air cond.

Don't take me wrong guys My old 46 ford is a flathead no air . And if I ever get the bugs out of it we are going to the flats. But I do have an overdrive and a 350 rear gear

Coop, you got me there, Kinda like the Vets. Shouda gone back a few more years. Had a 60 Chrysler that couldn't stop, unless you hit a brick wall.
