Default paint

what is a good type of paint to use to duplicate the original Ford colors?

Well originally the cars where painted in Lacquer. A good single stage urethane will work. Base Coat Clear coat if you like. All depends on where your trying to achieve. Urethane prepped properly will last thirty years. Lacquer 3 to 5 years. At least in my neck of the woods, due to extreme temp. changes.
