I've been running one of Bert's babbit engines for years. Wouldn't think twice about buying one of his insert engines.

I've bought parts from Bert's both original and reproduction.

Never been un-satisfied they are a great bunch of folks, among the very best.

A number of my friends have Bert's Inserted Engines, from high performance Miller OHV engines to more stock engines, with a few in between.

All engines have performed very well. I am also helping. A friend install one this afternoon.

I would recommend them without any hesitation. They can also offer other modifications like Stipe Cams, higher compression heads, etc.

The guys at Berts are top notch. If you should ever have a problem with something you purchased from them, you couldn't be in better hands.

Re-stamping seems pretty common.

Or give you the block with a blank SN (old # machined off)

There is a guy on the swap meet that sells the correct steel stamps so you can stamp your own.

What is the reason for the purchase? Can the block you have be rebuilt?

Since you are in Iowa, you could have Herm rebabbit your engine or a complete rebuild.

I would like to rebuild it but I am gun shy this will be the third time the last time the center line is too high so I go through timing gears on occasion, it has never been right. I don't know herm can where are they located?
