WOW!
Wonder if it would be possible to get this on "How It's Made" or "Modern Marvels"? |

Re: rouge river plant
Thanks Brendan, I enjoyed watching that on my iPhone. Will rewatch on the computer with bigger screen tomorrow. Would loved to have gotten one of those as it came off the end of the assembly line.

Re: rouge river plant
Having worked for GM I might have watched the film with a different take than most. I saw employees doing tough tasks; how many here could place that flywheel on with a line speed of maybe 45 (or more?) units per hour? Ever lift your Ford 3 speed to the work bench? How about buttoning them up to the bellhousing all day, after first taking them off a rack or pallet.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy early Fords like all the rest here but just stop and think about the pains of getting them out that factory door. There are many facets to the old car pastime and the human angle is just another one. Thanks for bringing this to our attention Brendan, it's a great find. |

Re: rouge river plant
Very cool.. I grew up about 20 miles away from Rouge. Every time i go down to Mexican Town we come home the back way down Miller Rd. to see the foundry all lit up. That place still amazes me after all these years.

Great video! There was also some 37 and 36 assembly. I could watch that stuff for hours.
