Default NE Road trip

My wife and I are taking a road trip in Oct., continuing to pursue my quest to drive my '50 Ford in all the lower 48 states. I need to get in 7 states in the northeast and 5 in the south. We are leaving WV on Oct 16 and working our way through NJ & DE and the on up to RI ending up in central NH for a week. WE will then take some day trips to ME, VT and into Canada, having already passed through MA.

There's a barn on rt 103 below Chester, VT that looks like a good place to visit. I used to see it year after year while driving a tour bus, but couldn't stop. Lots of old signs and junk. Is it worth a visit?? I wouldn't mind visiting old Ron, too!

I've been all over ME in a bus, but might like to visit Walt Dupont and maybe others in central ME in my Ford. This would be between the 20-24th.

Comments? Thanks.

Thanks, B nut, I finally have the time to stop at the barn on 103 and its gone, just my luck. I have passed by it at least 75 times and couldn't stop, but it has been 5 years since I been there. You must be down close to the state line near Bellows Falls? I just may want to visit!

Cecil,
When you are in Maine a stop by Walt Dupont's is a must. I assure you that it will be the highlight of your trip. Keep us posted on your itinerary and maybe some of us New Englanders will join in for a day when you pass by. Foliage is getting beautiful so hurry up.

Cecil,
Let me know when you are in NH. Maybe we arrange a meeting.

Our route will be across I-70 to Baltimore and then up I-95 through De into PA and hit 206 to I-287 in NJ, around NYC and cross the Tappan Zee bridge and pick up I-95 again to Providence and head north to NH from there. In my quest to drive in all lower 48, I need DE, NJ and RI and then Ma, Me and Vt. I'll return a more direct route through NY state.

Cecil, I see your route is planned through RI but from there you can come up 146 to 290 to 190 and take 13 to 101. 95 going through Boston kind of sucks unless there is something you want to see there.

That's probably how I will go, Frank. I've seen all of Boston that I ever want to see since before the Big Dig! The thing I like about Boston is that all the streets are one way---THE WRONG DIRECTION.

You got that right. That route will put you close to me. Were you going to try and drive straight through or did you have a stop planned? Seriously get in touch with me. I will make sure you have an interesting stop.

Frank, We are traveling part way on Thursday, and if it works out, I'll travel far enough to have some time on Friday on the way through.
