Hey guys im gonna run vintage 54 plates on my Ford. They are currently black with yellow letters and numbers. But I need to touch up the paint. Can anyone tell me what colors they used to repaint them. Brands and colors. Thanks

Auto paint/body supply stores can color-match the colors for you as long as there's enough of the original to scan. Also, be sure to check with TXDOT regarding

repainted plates. I have heard, but cannot confirm, that they're a little touchy about it. Best to ask first. Good luck!

I think it depends on the clerk that looks at the plates and then the book they have that gives the color.
I had a set of '30 (repainted) school bus yellow with blue lettering that were OK'ed with no problem. Book said yellow / blue ...that's all.
