Just as a side note, when I was loosening the generator mounting bolt-I noticed the nut was on the front. This is the second time I've run into this. I had the same issue when I removed the generator from my 29 Tudor. I will replace nut & bolt correctly when I put everything back together.
FWIW, I found the nut awkward to put on the back, so I substituted a 1/2" rod coupling, the extra length sure helped.

Ok, just got my new "Leakless" water pump from Snyder's. Everything seems to fit well. Fan/pulley turn on pump without any binding on casting. I ground just a little of the rear of the shaft. I decided to stay with the original water pump mounting studs. Should I put a little blue Locktite on the threads of the studs? It didn't appear there was any when I removed the pump. Thanks again to everyone for all your help.

Smit
R/s / passenger side upper stud needs rtv or liquid Teflon
The hole goes into the water jacket... The other three are blind holes and really don't need anything

Mitch,
I never took the studs out. I was referring to putting the Locktite on the studs before I tighten down the nuts & lockwashers.
