Default Factory Ford down draft intake, German?

Picked this up this past weekend. Did a little research and I think it's a factory Ford intake made at the Koln Ford plant n Germany. Embossed emblem appears to be the Ford plant with Koln in it with the cathedral towers behind and river in front with ford next to smoke stack. Was wondering if anyone has seen one like this, what kind of carburetor would it have used. Any info would be appreciated. Cast iron not aluminum.

You are probably right? Russia also made their "jeep" with slightly modified B engines, and likely with a down-draft carb??? That jeep was still being used in the Korean "war".

(For Jim: The Russian 'jeep' you're referring to is the GAZ 67B built from '43 to '53 which did in fact use a downdraft carb. on a Model B engine. It was replaced by the GAZ 69 then UAZ 69 up into the early 70's. Good 'ole commies...use obsolete designs for modern production)

Sorry for the thread interruption...now back to the original topic....

Yes, you are correct. That is the emblem from the Ford factory in Köln, Germany.

To decipher the part number on the side of your part, here is what the numbers mean:

G38T - 9425

G = Made in Germany
3 = 1943 start of production
8 = 50 hp, 4 cylinder, 3,2 litre engine (initially produced for this engine)
T = truck (Lastwagen)
9425 = generic Ford part number for a four cylinder intake manifold

The above is based on an original booklet I have which tells how to decode the Ford engine/parts numbers.

Here is a photo from the 1948 German Ford truck brochure which shows an example engine on which your intake manifold was used (starting in 1943):

Hope that helps,
Brad in Maryland

German Intake Manifold for the 1940's Ford Truck 4 cylinder engine.
Thank you Brad in Germany for adding this detailed information
That 1948 German Ford Truck Sales Brochure shows this Manifold off very well.
Thanks again for your input.
