As noted, could be a sagged frame.

We have received parts in. We removed the grommet that was in the firewall, it was NOT the correct bushing, it was a wiring grommet. We have added a NEW throttle spring that was not on the pedals (actually one end was broken off, no torsion). We have bent the new choke rod to the old shape added the rubber firewall bushing, leather washer, metal conical washer, and a NEW spring. We used the old brass tube that holds the two ends of the choke rod and carburetor together. Pulling things back and forth everything seems to function as it should. A nice return to forward when let go. Good spring pressure.

We did loosen the body(front end) and maybe got an 1/8" of movement, not much more. I don't think there was a body issue, I think the binding might have been the compilation of not having the correct rubber bushing and not having the throttle spring on the pedals near the firewall. We will look at the engine mounts and rubber isolation pads at another time.

For those offended, no "Farmer Fixes".

Let's get this thing running.

If you bent your new choke rod, will it still turn?

In the trade its call 'finding the root cause' the actual cause of the issue .In other words, when you bent a new straight choke rod to work you didn't find the root cause you altered a part to conform to the root cause, thus, a farmer fix..
