POR 15 Gas Tank Sealer

Will this gas tank sealer also fail? If I use leaded gas will that prolong the life of it. I had my gas tank sealed with it 10 yrs. ago and have not used it yet. What’s the consensus?

Leaded or unleaded is not the issue I don’t think
The problem has been ethanol
I don’t think leaded gas is legal except for some aviation fuels

So using what we used to call white gas is not the remedy. It’s at two-three stations here in N. Louisiana locally.

All I know is in TN we have gas with ethanol added and “pure” gas no ethanol
To me the question would be yes or no on ethanol with white gas. I remember the term but not used around here for a good while
With E to me is crap but modern cars are engineered for it
We never use it in small engine, generators and small construction equipment

I used POR 15 Gas Tank Sealer in my 31 tudor nineteen years ago and it is still holding up well .

what we used to call white gas

The way I remember it "white gas" was unleaded, we used it in gas lanterns and camp stoves.

For years, I have used POR 15 gas tank sealer with good success. A little extra information about unleaded gas: Naphtha which is used as a solvent and a fuel, was also called appliance fuel in the 1890's and later. As internal combustion cars came into being, appliance fuel was used to fuel the engines and it could be bought at the local drug store in small quantities. Steam cars also used the appliance fuel for their boilers up until 1913 when most of the steam cars switched to kerosene because it was cheaper and contained more BTU per gallon than did the appliance fuel. The appliance fuel because a household necessity and was chiefly sold by Coleman and it became known as Coleman fuel. Appliance fuel was also known at white gas and it was widely distributed at gas stations. Our leaded gas that we used in our automobiles recently became unleaded fuel because of pollution laws outlawing lead in our fuels. Unleaded gas is very much the same as Coleman fuel nowadays, but unleaded gas is not quite as pure. I use Naphtha/appliance/white gas/Colman fuel/unleaded gas in our steam cars and it boils the water into steam quite nicely. I use it mostly in my pilot lights for my burners. Lately, I have been using Hexane as a pilot light fuel. Hexane carries a more reliable flame because of its lower flash point. POR 15 has done a good job in keeping my my fuel tanks clean and rust free.

Used POR15 gas tank sealer 12 years ago and my sediment bowl is always clear. I have used only 10% ethanol over that same time period. It doesn't seem to have any advise effects on the POR15 sealer.
