Re: cowl band
28/29 Deluxe sedan and cabriolet cowl bands are almost impossible items to find. In my case I bought a brass D molding from Universal Tire and formed it to fit then had it nickel plated. It was pricey after the plating and poliishing (around $350) but it came out well and the owner was pleased.

Re: cowl band
Originals are around, expect to spend $500 for a nice original, and sometimes double that for a restored one. Have you checked with Steve at Bert's?

Re: cowl band
You might try Bruce at vintage vehicles and stainless restoration, albeit that one is plated so don't let the name keep you from checking what they have.
They are excellent at stainless and I have purchased several show bands from them in the past. Hopefully they can help but I think Brent is correct that $500 to 1k should be an expectation for a nice one . I think their number is 920-787-2656 Larry Shepard |
