I'm happy with my 29 A !
Bought "Tootsie" about 12 years ago from a fellow up near Toledo, OH. Ran her for a few years...but not before completing a through exam and rebuild of her running gear (except the engine). She is a running restoration and runs like a Swiss watch. All stock except for seat belts and turn signals installed by me. She is not a show car and I don't intend on going for fine points or Hershey...just make her right and enjoy. I have learned a lot from you Ford Barners. First thing I did was get ALL the manuals, Les Andrews, factory service bulletins, Judging and Restoration Standards. I also have a good friend with a great machine shop who owns three model As- all 31's. Today was about 65 degrees and I put about 100 miles on her. The all mechanical stock brakes work great and she just goes down the road. Well pleased with herself- up hills pretty darn good to in 3rd gear too. Just wanted to spout and show-off a bit! Hope my pics attach?

Nice car. We have two 29's and I agree that year is great! (Think this will cause some discussion)

Nice car and it looks like a good car for touring the countryside.

I am reading "The Model A as Henry Built it." Maybe a puff piece, but interesting. It tells you why they work so well after all these years.

Re: I'm happy with my 29 A !
I have that book as well and have read it from cover to cover. Wonderful. You just have to wonder and appreciate what these cars are. Watching the Rouge plant films and driving a piece of history...why would anyone want to cut them up.....and make a Rat...oh, you know the rest! Just preserve them, that is what this forum is about. I will not sell Tootsie as long as I'm alive and only hope she will go to someone who will appreciate the car for what it is and not destroy her...she deserves better and I will try to make sure that happens through my legacy.

Re: I'm happy with my 29 A !
I like your 1929 Tudor. It is a good choice. We also have a 1929 Tudor that we have had since 1968 It came with 55 K miles. Now it has over 100,000. I stand 6'3" and weigh over 230 pounds, and I find that it is easy to get into and it is roomy for us. It stops, steers, and get on down the road with ease. I have owned and driven just about all of the model A Fords and I find that the Tudor model is the most user friendly.

Re: I'm happy with my 29 A !
The stock market crash killed the 1930-1 sales, but the 1929 Tudor was the most sold model of any Model A. I'd say it was because of the good looks, rugged steel body, and practicality, as well as low price. I'm looking forward to getting the engine back in my 29 Tudor and driving it again.
