1929 A closed cab pickup top wood dimensions
Has anyone got plans or dimensions of the 1929 ford closed cab pickup top wood.
I would buy a kit but will cost $1200 australian to get it. I can make myself from aussie hardwood. Thanks Steve |

Re: 1929 A closed cab pickup top wood dimensions
Sadly for semi-accomplished woodworkers such as myself, the top wood plan HAS NOT made it to "open source."
And I agree. Pricing of what amounts to a handful of hardwood sticks is a little outa sight. This is too bad. My 29 CC pickup has top wood done by the former owner and he obviously worked to the wood he removed - but in PINE. Which has served well for the 40 years I've owned the truck - but is not original. Were it maple it would please me. Were it possible, someone could send me at my cost their removed original wood and I would engineer a top wood diagram using my cab as the go-no go gauge? It would benefit the hobby - but perhaps not the vendors. Joe K

cost wasnt worth it to me, so I built my own top from just looking at kits for sale on ebay. really wasnt difficult and came out swell- though I wont be getting into any judging. I was happy with the results and only took about 6 hrs to build from scratch. |
