Re: Gas gauge liquid
Mac's old Ford parts has the liquid. I bought some last year and my gauge works well, only problem with their liquid is I notice the red dye used has faded a fair bit in the last few months..I believe Mac's has relocated to Florida from New York..

Re: Gas gauge liquid
I use red gauge oil, purchased at graingers. it has a sp of .826 not sure if that is ideal, but it works for me. I bought it quite a few years ago, but it should still be available from them

Re: Gas gauge liquid
This is how I do it.Remove the speedometer, which gives you easy access to get to the gauge.Remove the air line then remove the gas gauge then clamp (the hex part in a vise).Make sure gauge is level.Add red fluid until it reaches the bottom line(empty) in the back hex where the air line was connected. If the fluid does not come thru from the back, the line is plugged and gauge needs servicing.

Re: Gas gauge liquid
Check with renardscorner. https://rennerscorner.com/index.html
I know a guy that is tied of messing around with the gauge and stuffed a red pipe clean down the tube to simulate a full tank. |
