Default Model A Engine Builder

I'm new to the Model A universe, having discovered sharing a garage with the owner of a '30 pickup can be contagious! I recently acquired a pretty decent '30 roadster, and am looking for a good Model A rebuilder who can update, improve the motor with new bearings, counterbalanced crank, perhaps a little more compression. I live in the Vancouver B.C. Area, and would like to find someone in the Pacific Northwest who's got the skill and experience. Any input greatly appreciated.

I have used antique engine re-builders and James Rogers at Dreamwerks . They did a great job and can set you up with reasonable shipping charges. www.antiqueenginerebuilding.com & http://www.model-a-ford-4bangers.com

Just because a crank broke with .040" under grind, doesn't necessarily condemn.040". Cranks break at all grinds. Other than fatigue, I'd blame a bad radius. I just saying.

Sure, a bad radius is fatal to a crankshaft. So is too much lugging/improper use of the timing lever. 0.04" under size journals is the limit but not unreasonable.

Remove Taylors engine rebuilding in Whittier. The owner (Jay Steele passed away a few ago) and the shop is closed.
