I use 50/50 Sierra, with napa's Kool additive, the napa additive lowered my op. temp about 30 degrees. I too run an original radiator, that i took to have cleaned at the radiator shop. Wanted it rodded out but the father had recently been killed in a motorcycle accident, his son, about 32 didn't know how to take it apart, his grandfather was there who started the business in the early 40's but was not interested in schooling the grandson. Came back flowing very well, but still ran hotter than I liked, had previously cleaned out passages in block and head, etc. the napa Kool worked very well for me.

"Water Wetter" with water is destructive to radiators. It wasn't until it took out my second mint original radiator that I found the common denominator and did some homework. I was NOT the first one to learn the hard way.

I use 30% antifreeze and 70% water also. I keep my A in a garage that never gets below freezing. On a side note, a few months ago around here a guys girlfriend gave him some ice tea to drink. He drank it even though he said it tasted funny. Turns out the girlfriend mixed the tea with antifreeze. He was in the hospital for a while and it almost killed him. The girlfriend was arrested. Don't drink the green tea.

Buy 3 gallons and stick in 2 1/2 gallons. It only coasts about $8. Drive with it in for 30 days, then flush the system until clear water comes out, then install antifreeze. It worked great for me.
